My promise to myself

I’ve started this blog so many times before — maybe five. Each time I had good intentions, but I never kept it going. So this is my promise to myself: write something here every day for 30 days.

It doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be honest. I’m doing this to build discipline and to stop trying to make everything so good all the time.

Already on day two, I almost slipped. At my parents’ place, I was offered a small pie full of calories. I really wanted to eat the whole thing, but I stopped halfway, added a big salad, and called that a win.

Then later, when I was going home — 25 minutes by bike — it was raining, windy, and almost dark. My dad offered to drive me, and I’ll admit, it was tempting. But I insisted on cycling home instead. Slowly, and completely soaked, but I did it.

My promises to myself:

  • Weigh and measure everything I eat, and stay within my daily calorie limit.

  • No sweets, pastries, or desserts.

  • Try to eat healthy food, but it’s okay to have something simple like a hot dog or hamburger sometimes.

  • Once every three weeks, it’s fine not to weigh my food.

  • Move for at least one hour a day, even if it’s just slow walks.

It’s not about being perfect. It’s about showing up — even when no one’s watching.
